The new trivago campus is now open! In the heart of Düssedorf's Medienhafen, the tech HQ is like something out of the Silicon Valley and we are super proud to be a part of it with our chairs!
Our collaboration with trivago started in early 2017 and 18 months later we are thrilled to see our chairs in prime position next to the fifth floor terrace and in the Lisbon meeting room. The campus has many great feautures, notably a gym, running track on the roof, cafe, restaurant and plenty of outdoor terraces for BBQing.
So follow us on on our mini tour of the campus, into our favourite meeting rooms and co-working spaces.
Enter the building and you'll find a large cafe area, complete with Barrista, healthy food options, snacks and sandwiches. There's also a spacious gym, showers and communal working areas. The vibe is great, with beats over the sound system and everyone enjoying the social atmosphere.
Start from the top of the building, floor5 and head to the meeting room 'Lisbon'.
Velvet blue chairs for the trivago campus
I was super excited when I first saw the plans for the Lisbon room. Along one wall is a huge print of a Lisbon street, so large you feel like you could actually be there, complete with the trademark yellow trams. On the opposite side is a wall of the iconic Portuguese Azulejos tiles, and in the corner are two Lynda Sparshatt blue velvet chairs.
Each chair is hand-made and features 18 deep-set buttons on the back panel, plus luxurious, plush, velvet in a brilliant cobalt blue that blends perfectly with the room's decor.
Once you exit Lisbon, turn right and you will see the terrace!
Mustard Yellow Velvet Chairs on the trivago campus
Just outside of the terrace you will see our mustard yellow button-back chairs. They are perfect for enjoying a coffee and taking in the 5th floor view from the terrace out over Düsseldorf's Medienhafen.
The fabric is a super soft, high-quality Italian velvet, and it is such a bold mustard colour, that rather than being a dull 1970's mustard, it's much more of an eye-catching gold tone.
The legs are oak with Brass slipper cups, as is the metal tag stating 'Lynda Sparshatt | Düsseldorf'.
The terrace is one of the core communal areas in the campus, people come here to relax on their lunch break, to have outdoor meetings, or BBQs in the evening. I am really proud to have chairs here.
Want to see the rest of the trivago campus?
The meeting rooms are incredible. They range from city-themed to concept themed. There's a candy shop, a Lego room, a Japanese bamboo hut, but there's also meeting rooms that are named after cities and really capture the essence of that particular place, such as Hamburg or Lisbon.
The rooms really reflect trivago's diversity. The many, many, countries and cities that are represented in trivago's staff, the different working styles and ways of learning, and the collaborative effort that are so important to so many of our projects.
If you are ever in Düsseldorf do get in touch, we'd love to show you around!
